Despite re-instating JaMychal Green to the team earlier this week, coach Anthony Grant has stated that the senior forward will not be available for the Alabama Crimson Tide's game tonight in Fayetteville against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Tide (17-9, 6-6 SEC) will square off against the Hogs (17-10, 5-7 SEC) at 6 pm CT in Bud Walton Arena. ESPN2 will have the coverage.
Along with Green missing tonight's game, Alabama will also continue to be without the services of junior forward Tony Mitchell, whom Grant announced earlier this week was suspended for the rest of the season. As has been the case during the two's suspensions, the Tide will have to turn to their two starting guards, senior Andrew Steele and junior Trevor Releford, and a host of freshman phenoms and reserve post players to try to defeat the Hogs. Releford is averaging over 12 points and almost 3 assists a game, while Steele contributes almost 7 points and 3 assists. Freshman guard Trevor Lacey is averaging 7 points a game as well. Freshmen Levi Randolph and Nick Jacobs will be expected to continue to contribute in place of Green and Mitchell in the post. Both players average almost 6 points a game and 4 rebounds.
Coach Mike Anderson's Hogs are led by B.J Young. The freshmen guard is averaging over 15 points a game. In the Razorbacks' most recent contest, a 98-68 loss to Florida, Young had a career-high 31 points. He was 10 of 19 in shooting during the game.
