Tuesday Power Polls

Today will start the third edition of the weekly SECJams tradition of the Power Polls. We will give you the power rankings of whatever we feel like that week. Basketball during Basketball season, football during football, we might even rank the hotness of SEC girls in the crowd. This weekly poll will be the talk of your friends. The third edition of the power poll will be SEC men's basketball teams from top to bottom.

Week 3 SEC Men’s Basketball

1. Kentucky (13-1) – Kentucky holds on to the top spot with a huge win in the battle of the bluegrass over Louisville. (Previous Week #1)

2. Mississippi State (13-2) - The Bulldogs move up one spot as they prove they belong with the top teams last week. They lost a close battle to the undefeated Baylor Bears, and then beat a good Utah State team to finish the week. (Previous Week #3)

3. Florida (11-3) – The Gators have dropped one spot to number three coming off a 1-1 week, that included a loss to Rutgers in double overtime, and a win over Yale. (Previous Week #2)

4. Vanderbilt (10-4) – The Dores are finally playing like they should be with a win over Marquette last week. They have won four straight and are up three spots in the poll. (Previous Week #8)

5. Arkansas (10-3) – The Razorbacks are holding steady with five straight wins, and are looking for SEC play to open Saturday against Mississippi State. (Previous Week #5)  

6. Alabama (10-3) – Alabama is as steady as they come and took home another win last week. They have had a three week hold on the sixth spot. (Previous Week #6)

7. LSU (10-4) – LSU finally went down and lost their seven game winning streak to the #23 team in the nation the Virginia Cavaliers. This loss drops them three spots to number seven. (Previous Week #4)

8. Auburn (10-3) – Auburn got back from their Christmas vacation to Hawaii and took care of business to get back on track with two wins. (Previous Week #7)

9. Georgia (9-5) – The Bulldogs jump up one spot to number nine this week. They are currently on a five game winning streak, and open SEC play with Alabama. (Previous Week #10)

10. Ole Miss (9-4) – Ole Miss is coming off a loss to the Dayton Flyers, and their third straight which drops them in this week’s poll. (Previous Week #9)

11. Tennessee (7-6) – Tennessee is on a four game winning streak, and are looking better going in to the rematch against Memphis on January 4, 2012. (Previous Week #11)

12. South Carolina (7-6) – The Gamecocks have won three straight games, all of which were over terrible teams, so no reason to move up the Gamecocks. (Previous Week #12)
