The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide softball team used a big night from Cassie Reilly-Boccia at the plate and a solid outing from Leslie Jury on the mound to defeat the Samford Bulldogs 7-3, improving the Tide's record to a still perfect 18-0. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 4-13 on the season.

Reilly-Boccia was 2 for 3 at the plate with a 2-run homerun. The senior first baseman also had a RBI double and a run scored. Reilly-Boccia ssw her season average improved to a gaudy .395.

Jury pitched a full six innings while giving up only 3 runs to the Bulldogs. The freshman scattered six hits while striking out 7. She saw her season record improve to a perfect 6-0.

Up next for the Tide is their Southeastern Conference opening series against the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexngton. The series opens on Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 5 pm CT.
