John Calipari has his Kentucky Wildcats hitting on all cylinders as they prepare to host the Florida Gators Tuesday night at Rupp Arena. The Cats are coming off of a monster win Saturday at South Carolina 86-52, in which they dominated from start to finish. Kentucky was led by Anthony Davis (who flirted with another triple double) with 22 pts, 8 rbs, and 8 blks. Kentucky got another strong performance from Terrence Jones who finished with 16 pts and 6 rbs.
Florida (19-4, 7-1) will roll into Lexington on a seven game winning streak looking to snap Kentucky's (23-1, 9-0) 48 game home win streak. Florida is coming off of a 73-65 win at home against Vanderbilt. The Gators are led in scoring by Sophomore Kenny Boynton (17.6), Freshman Bradley Beal (14.3), and Erving Walker (12.6).
Kentucky's Anthony Davis broke Shaquille O'neal's twenty year old Freshman shot block record Saturday in the win over South Carolina. It's reasonable to note that Davis done this only midway through the SEC schedule. He has now set his sights on the season record of 170 held by Jarvis Varnado.
*Attendance at the South Carolina game was 16,000 and some change. I think 9,000 of them were Kentucky fans as the "Go Big Blue" chants were louder than the boos. Way to travel BBN.
*Duke gets beat by Miami at home in OT 78-74. I guess it's safe to assume that Cameron Indoor Stadium isn't as intimidating as it used to be.
*The Magic of Tom Brady seems to be fading as the Patriots fall to the Giants in the Super Bowl 21-17. J. Lorenzon, I'm happy that you're happy, but no other reason.
