Leading 62-55, Kentucky scored only two points over the final 8:00 of regulation to drop the SEC Tourney Championship 71-64 to Vandy. The Cats were lead by Darius Miller with 16 points. Anthony Davis and Terrence Jones added 12 a piece.

Kentucky game into the game riding a nation's best 24 game win streak. 1996 saw a similar situation for the Cats as they came in to the SEC Championship against Miss St. with only one loss. They would lose that game and roll through the NCAA's to win their 6th National Championship. "Now we can get this off our plate. We don't have to worry about a win streak." said Calipari.

Here is another interesting thought. In 1951 Kentucky came into the SEC Championship game with only 1 loss (by 1 point). They lost that championship game to Vandy and went on to win the National Championship. Is it fate? I don't know, but it sure is fun to think that it may be.

*3 freshman and 2 sophomores in the starting lineup. 38-2, 16-0 in SEC regular season, 1 regular season loss (by a last second 3), 54 game home winning streak, 7 weeks at the top of both major polls, and the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Another great year for the Cats!!
