The prize possession of the 2012 recruiting class is without question Shabazz Muhammed. Shabazz is a 6'6 215lb small forward from Bishop Gorman H.S in Las Vegas. The five finalists for Shabazz are Kentucky, Duke, UCLA, UNLV, and Kansas.

It has been long believed that Kentucky may be in the lead for Shabazz. That lead may have just shrunk. "Bazz wants to go to a program that has a chance to win a National Championship," says Muhammad's father Ron Holmes. "UNLV is putting the pieces together to be in that position.  They are close to home and have a great style of play. Getting players like Khem Birch (transfer from Pitt) strengthens UNLV in the eyes of Shabazz." (Zagsblog.com)

Adding Shabazz and maybe another would just put an exclamation point on an already stong class. Signed as of now are Willie Cauley - 4 Star Center, Archie Goodwin - 5 Star SG, and 5 Star PF Alex Poythress.
