In the last two seasons, there hasn't been much to cheer about for LSU basketball.
Before this year's 18-win squad, LSU had gone through two straight last-place finishes in SEC West as well as player departures and fan apathy in the Red Stick.
But thanks to the play of freshman guard Anthony Hickey, the future for LSU basketball has never looked brighter.
2011 Kentucky's Mr. Basketball, Hickey had 10 points and five steals in today's 60-51 loss to #1 Kentucky in the second round of the SEC Tournament in New Orleans Friday afternoon, dropping the Bayou Bengals to 18-14 on the season.
Whether or not this is the final act on the 2011-12 LSU Tigers, it's safe to say that Hickey, who after the game said his goal going into 2011-12 was to be a leader for the team, will definitely be one of the best point guards in the conference in 2012-13.
The only thing Tiger fans can do is wait and see.
