The Alabama Crimson Tide announced on Thursday that eight members of the class of 2012 have already enrolled and are in classes for the spring semester. The headliner of the group was Daphne(AL.) running back T.J. Yeldon, who on Wednesday was named the state of Alabama's Mr. Football. Yeldon(6-1, 215) had been committed to Auburn up until the end of December when he flipped his commitment to Alabama.
Joining Yeldon as an early enrollee were JUCO transfers Deion Belue(6-foot, 170), a defensive back from Northeast Mississippi who had originally signed with the Tide two years ago, and Eastern Arizona defensive back Travell Dixon(6-2, 200), who signed with the Tide originally in 2011. Also enrolling early was Miami Northwestern(Fla.) wide receiver Amari Cooper(6-2, 180). Cooper had a standout performance in this year's Under Armour All-America Game by catching a 75 yard touchdown pass and also having a 93 yard punt return for a touchdown.
Rounding out the list of early enrollees is Yeldon's Daphne teammate, defensive lineman Ryan Anderson(6-3, 250), Jacksonville(Fla.) First Coast wide receiver Chris Black(6-foot, 175), Buford(Ga.) linebacker Dillon Lee(6-3, 240), and Davidson(AL.) defensive lineman Alphonse Taylor(6-6, 340).
All early enrollees are eligible to begin Alabama's offseason conditioning program. They will also be able to participate in spring practice.
